Bastrop Texas Real Estate

25 miles East of Austin, TX is the small town of Bastrop. Many people don’t realize all the interesting things Bastrop has to offer residents.  Bastrop residents enjoy tall pine trees and the Colorado River as well as three 18 hole golf courses.  In recent years Bastrop, TX has experienced some growth that now offers residents big city convenience without traveling to Austin.  Among these are the Super Wal-Mart, major grocery store HEB, Home Depot, Chili’s, and many other businesses. The new Chestnut Square offers movie theatres, pool tables, bowling alley, and an arcade. Bastrop offers residents activities like rodeos and festivals, art shows, golf tournaments, football, softball, baseball and soccer games. Living in Bastrop is like going back in time where things are slower pace and everyone in town knows your name and will greet you with a smile. Just driving around Bastrop can be fun.  There are old iron bridges over the Colorado River and historic homes in the old downtown area. Outside the city limits home owners enjoy quiet living on large lots.  Mini ranches are very common in Bastrop Texas. Horses run in large pastures and occasionally you’ll even see exotic game on the larger ranches.  Bastrop is for people who like large trees and lots of land where they can spread out.  Home prices are very affordable and many residents don’t mind the short commute to Austin for work in exchange for reduced real estate prices. You can get a lot for your money in Bastrop, TX.
