The following are a few places, not in any particular order, that my family and I enjoy doing in the Austin area;

Main Event:
13301 N. US Hwy 183, Austin, Texas
Main Event makes an excellent family night out. They offer a little something for every one of all ages. They have bowling, pool tables, lazar tag, glow in the dark golf, rock climbing, video games, full bar and food.

Alamo Draft House-
13729 Research Blvd, Austin, TX (one of several locations)
Unlike the normal business model of popcorn, candy and a movie, Alamo Draft House offers the full dating experience. They have a full menu of delicious food, Drink (beer and wine), and of course the movie.

Oasis-
6550 Comanche Trail, Austin, Texas
This is an amazing restaurant!! If the food doesn’t amaze you then their views will. The building lay out is a large multi-level stadium seating that over looks Lake Travis. They also have a unique decorating style that will keep you in awe for hours. I recommend this place to everyone I know.

County Line-
Bee Cave Road just past 360 & FM 2222 just before 360
This is another get restaurant to visit for their scenery and great BBQ style food.

Zilker Park-
2100 Barton Springs Road, Austin, Tx
Zilker park is a large 351 acre park located by Lady Bird Lake. The park has a miniature train, swimming at Barton Springs Pool, hike and bike trails, large playscapes, and a theatre that hosts concerts. Zilker park also has a kit festival that happen every year, in March, for the past 80 years.

Zilker park also hosts the Trail of Lights every Christmas season. The Trail of Lights is a 1.25 mile long display of lighted scenes. The Trail of Lights begins with the Zilker Tree Lighting. The Zilker Tree is 155 feet tall, 180 feet diameter lighted man-made tree.

Austin’s Park and Pizza:
Exit 248 on Hwy 35
Austin’s Park ‘n Pizza offers food and many outdoor adventures like; mini-golf, go-karts, bumper boats, batting caging, tea cups, lazar tag, rock climb and paint ball for a low promotional price. Check out the website for pricing.

Lake Travis:
Lake Travis parks make excellent family outing with their 15 park locations. Go for the day or set up a tent at their many campgrounds, and enjoy their beaches, picnic areas, and boat access.

Lady Bird Lake:
Lady Bird Lake (original Town Lake) is located just south of Downtown and offers parks and hike and bike trails. I enjoy running on the trails and the excellent views of the lake, and the downtown background.
